Stages of intervention
Step 1: The Diagnosis
The dentist evaluates the case on the basis of the ‘dental examination, analysis of the clinical situation and radiological examinations, which together with the impression of the existing dentition are the necessary tools to design the best solution.
Step 2: The placement of the dental implant
Through a simple surgical procedure under local anesthesia, the dental implant can be placed in two ways, depending on the clinical situation. Single-phase Procedure involves the placement of the dental implant. Immediately afterward, a healing screw is attached to allow the gingiva to heal. In the two-stage procedure, the implant is inserted, allowed to heal below the gingival tissue, and then the healing screw is attached. Depending on the patient’s situation, a temporary restoration may be placed on the implant during healing.
Stage 3: Healing
During this phase, the implant fuses with your bone, and healing can occur from six weeks to a few months (depending on the patient and the case) .
Step 4: Tooth fabrication
While the ‘implant heals , the dental laboratory, through an impression, accurately fabricates the crown, bridge or denture, based on the final model.
Step 5: Placement of the final prosthesis
It occurs once the healing phase is over. The new teeth are attached to the dental implants. The surgery is followed by a couple of visits in order to check functionality, ‘aesthetics, and to make sure that the patient is fully satisfied.
Step 6: Post – intervention
Oral hygiene and regular checkups at the dentist.
