Having the health of patients first and foremost at heart, Permedica has always been focused on researching innovative, effective and biologically safe products, biomaterials and surface treatments.
In fact, the goal of our research is to achieve the best interaction between our medical devices and the biological tissues with which they come in contact.
In an ongoing effort to pursue this goal, Permedica has for years been engaged in basic and clinical research in collaboration with surgeons and researchers from the most prestigious Italian and international universities.
For the dental line, Permedica Dentai Division routinely conducts XPS, SEM analysis to analyze the composition and topography of implant surfaces, performs mechanical tests, cytotoxicity studies to verify biocompatibility and mechanical safety.
In addition, in vitro cell culture studies, in vivo animal studies and clinical studies are conducted to test the degree of osseointegration of the surface of our implants.
IN VIVO STUDIES OF THE INNOVATIVE VITAL-B® SURFACE APPLIED TO DENTAL IMPLANTS
Among the latest scientific research is the study of a new planting surface. The effort to optimize the osseointegration process of dental implants and joint prosthetic devices led to the development of a new rough titanium surface coated with titanium-niobium nitride “VITAL-B®.”
In vitro and in vivo studies are showing excellent results in terms of the rate of osteoblast cell adhesion and the amount of surface area in contact with the newly formed bone tissue.
Permedica as a sponsor and promoter is continuously present at congresses, scientific symposia, and in the publication of scientific articles.
